Volunteer / Service Projects
Below is a list of volunteer or service projects in which troops and individual girls can particpate:
Junior Achievement of Mid Michigan - JA Run Walk, May 18, 2008
Junior Achievement of Mid Michigan is looking for a troop or two to volunteer at our 5K for JA Run/Walk on Sunday May 18th, 2008. The girls would act as corner marshalls and cheer on the runners/walkers. They are welcome to make posters and bring along pom pons if they wish. There will be many activites for the girls to take part in before and after the race, including face painting and mascots. We could also use a troop of girls to help us stuff bags for the runners before the race. If interested please contact:

The Ingham County Medical Care Facility on Dobie Road in Okemos is looking for troops to share a craft, hobby or more with their residents. They offer flexible schedules 7 days a week. If your troop is interested in helping out or you would like more information please contact Karen at 517-381-6132.

Ronald McDonald House Service Projects
In-House Hospice Solutions is in need of girls 15 years old and up to volunteer as a companions to hospice patients in nursing homes. It will require 12 hours of training and then a flexible time commitment based on the girl's availability. If you know of any girls in your Older Girl troops who would like to volunteer, contact Sara Balasia, Volunteer Coordinator at 800-311-5365, Ext. 45 or sbalasia@inhousecaresolutions.com.
Ingham County Conservation District has projects available. These are larger projects for older girls.
